Your first casting application: how to stand out

12/07/2026 · Castashoot

Brands receive many applications for good castings and read them fast. Your application therefore needs exactly three things: relevance, fit, availability. Everything else is decoration.

Relevance: one sentence on why this casting ('Streetwear is my core genre, see portfolio series 2'). Fit: one sentence on the hard criteria (height, city, experience). Availability: one sentence on the date ('I am available in Zurich on 20 July').

What to leave out: CVs, apologies ('I do not have much experience yet, but...') and mass texts. Brands spot copy-paste instantly, and your profile tells your experience better than any paragraph.

The biggest lever is a complete profile: photos, city, categories, measurements. On Castashoot your dashboard shows what is missing, and applications from complete profiles get accepted measurably more often.
